Before & After School Enrichment (BASE)
Oak Grove School District currently has six Child Care Centers located at Anderson, Baldwin, Hayes, Frost, Parkview and Taylor Elementary Schools. All six centers provide before and after school care for TK-6. The fee-based model of these services provides revenue for the district.
When children arrive Before School, they are greeted by our staff and provided a healthy breakfast and free choice activities. The students are excused for school about 10 minutes before their school day begins. TK and Kindergarten students are walked to their classrooms, and a staff member stays with them until the school’s playground supervision is present.
In the After School Program, the students follow a daily schedule. This includes a team meeting, snack, homework time, outside play, free choice, reading time, and character building activities. The students are provided a quiet place where they work on homework and are provided assistance from staff. They participate in weekly character building activities which include subjects such as honesty, integrity, respect, cooperation, and gratitude. The Child Care Center provides an environment that promotes positive social interaction and development through play.
During the summer, we offer full-day Summer Camp for 8 weeks for all students. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
